Azaad Club

The soccer team for Azaad Club Melbourne is a foundation sport for the club and regularly participates in several competitions throughout the year. Azaad is proud to have a senior soccer team participating in the VicSoccer morning league and after just missing out on promotion in its inaugural year the team is geared up for a big tilt at the league championship for season 2013.

Azaad also participates in several Sikh / Punjabi tournaments held during the year, most notably being the Australian Sikh Games over the Easter long weekend. The Australian Sikh Games pits teams from all over Australia in a two tiered tournament and attracts close to 10,000 spectators over the three day event. In the teams first attempt in 2012 they managed to finish Runners Up in Division 2 and are now among the favourites to bring home the cup in 2013. The team also participates in tournaments held in Griffith, NSW in June and Melbourne in October of each year.

For the 2017-18 season, the club has been honoured and pleased to announce Navdeep Pangly accepted the senior coaching role. It is a massive coup for the club and we look forward to working with Navdeep Pangly.

During the season regular training sessions are held at our home ground on Wednesdays at 6.30pm.

We are always on the look out for new players of any age group and encourage any individuals wanting more information to contact the club at info@azaadclubmelbourne or directly contact soccer co-ordinator Ricky Gill.
